Gerard grew up in Southeast Nebraska, the youngest of eight children. Following business
marketing studies at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, he attended mortuary school as part of his lifelong career.
After working for the prestigious California firms of Forest Lawn and Pierce Brothers, he created
an alternative funeral and cremation provider in 1993, and was part of the Prime Succession expansion.
His background in cremation management and legal issues makes him an asset to the Southland Crematory
organization.
